Malayan Flour Mills (MFlour) slumps into quarterly net losses of RM 598,000 mainly due to lower selling prices and lower sales volume due to stiff competition in its flour and grains segment

(MFLOUR opening stock price today (18.5.2012) was RM 1.59)

Malayan Flour Mills slumps into quarterly net losses of RM 598,000 mainly due to lower selling prices and lower sales volume due to stiff competition in its flour and trading in grains and other allied products segment.

Overall quarterly revenue increased by 2% to RM 467.1 million mainly attributable to higher sales from the poultry integration segment.

However, poultry integration segment suffered quarterly net losses of RM 2.7 million due to significant drop in selling prices of live birds in the market which had significantly eroded the
margin for this product.
